On April 4, voters in Fort Zumwalt School District will choose four members for the Board of Education. There are nine candidates running for a three-year term. Voters will vote for THREE. Candidates are listed in order they will appear on the ballot. All information below provided by the candidate. *Incumbent.


Arnie C. AC Dienoff

Education: Working towards my Master’s in Business Administration and Public Administration

Short statement about your reasons for seeking election to the Board of Education and your qualifications for this position: I will be the steward and “Watch-Dog” of all District Operations. I will be a great advocate for students, families, certified/non-certified staff and the core foundation of the community. I will Restore and instill total accountability, responsibility, full transparency and common-sense decision making. I will increase test scores, reduce classroom student/teacher ratio, additional funding for “Character” and “S.T.E.M.”-Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Mandate highly qualified teachers, increase teacher professional development, improve school safety (Safe Schools Act) and security, develop a stern policy for disruptive students, additional technology and cutting edge resources, cut all waste and mandate an annual balanced budget.

Short statement about your reasons for seeking election to the Board of Education and your qualifications for this position: Worked at FZSD for 30 years – Attended school and always liked helping others – so looking at doing the same thing with being an FZ Board member.


Tom Hobday

Education: St. Charles County Community College, St. Louis County Community College

Short statement about your reasons for seeking election to the Board of Education and your qualifications for this position: I want to give back in order to continue to improve on the excellence provided by the Fort Zumwalt School District. With three children currently in three different schools in the district, I feel I am in the ideal position to do this.

I am a proud parent of two children who are enrolled in the Zumwalt schools.

Short statement about your reasons for seeking election to the Board of Education and your qualifications for this position: I have three children that are or have attended Fort Zumwalt Schools. With this I would like to serve in our community and help continue the quality of education to the students. Education: Candidate for Doctorate in Education (Graduate May 2017); Master of Arts in Teaching, 2007; Master of Education Administration, 2010; Bachelor of Science in Education, 2003.

Short statement about your reasons for seeking election to the Board of Education and your qualifications for this position: I have always had a lifelong goal to have a positive impact on the lives of kids. I started my career as a teacher and later an administrator to reach my goals. Serving on the Board will allow me to use my skills to impact more kids.

Short statement about your reasons for seeking election to the Board of Education and your qualifications for this position: I would like to drive change in the best interest of students, educators, support staff and our community. I would like to actively support our district in fostering innovation, investing in training, and ensuring our children are well prepared for the future. I would like to contribute to equality in education, ensuring the effective and efficient use of school system resources, and working to increase partnerships with our community to aid in the transition of our students into an increasingly technological workplace. I am qualified to serve our district because I have over 25 years of experience in leadership and educational advocacy. I have served on several community boards in the district and as a parent of three children in Fort Zumwalt schools, I have a vested interest in the outcome of their educations. I volunteer on a regular basis in several schools in our district and I am a vocal advocate for educational advancement for children in our state.
