Business Students Compete at National Conferences
FBLA and DECA students earn honors

Competitors in Anaheim
Congratulations to these DECA competitors, who’s finish at state (listed below) earned them a trip to the
International Competition April 25-30 in Anaheim, Calif. 

FZN Juliana Bartoli 2nd place in Financial Consulting 

FZS Claire Pawloski and Kenzie Less 4th place in Marketing Management Team Decision Making

FZS Caitlin Ung and Jack King placed 2nd in Learn and Earn Project.  

FZN Carli Patterson and Drew Hoffschwelle 4th in Travel and Tourism Team Decision Making 

FZN Adam Woodrum 4th in Sports and Entertainment Marketing 

Caitlin Ung, Jack King, Mackenzie Less, and Claire Palowski represented Fort Zumwalt South last weekend as they competed in the 2017 DECA International Competition in Anaheim, Calif. Mackenzie Less and Claire Palowski competed in Marketing Management Team Decision Making. Jack King and Caitlin Ung competed in Learn and Earn Project. King and Ung earned an Award of Excellence for their presentation and written report.

Students participate in over 40 events including principles of business administration, business planning and operations, marketing research, fashion merchandising promotion, advertising, chapter team projects, leadership academies, and entrepreneurship projects. DECA’s industry-validated competitive events are aligned with the National Curriculum Standards in the career clusters of marketing, business management and administration, finance, and hospitality and tourism.

Competitors who qualified by earning top scores at the State level, advanced to the International Career Development Conference which was held in Anaheim, CA.  The near 350 Missouri DECA competitors represented the state by competing for international honors against 19,100 students from across the nation.

3rd Place--Elaiza Schorn--Healthcare Administration

Savannah Pleasant, Jami Pickle have earned the America Level in the Business Achievement Awards and Seth Hardin has earned the Achievement Level of the Community Service Awards. 

South's Chapter also received the Gold Chapter of the Year and 1st Place in Main Street MO
