SMS loved supporting the Grow Your Own Teacher trivia night! What a fun night for a great cause. ❤️

What a special day in 8th grade Social Studies! Mrs. Suzann Paulter, a descendant of the Zumwalt family, shared her family’s journey from the East Coast to the Midwest. Students learned about the pioneers who built Zumwalt’s Fort and the family’s proud military legacy- including Admiral Elmo R. Zumwalt Jr., former Chief of Naval Operations.

Students in Mrs. Hall's class participated in a Reader's Theatre "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow". This was the students first time ever reading from a play. Some were afraid to read aloud in front of their peers and some couldn't wait to get up and perform with their reading. They did a great job!

Huge shoutout to our amazing para & para mentor, Carrie Lee-Small! 🎉 She was recognized by Dr. St. Pierre with the Triple E Impact Award for going above and beyond for our SMS students. We are so proud of you! ❤️🐎 #SMSProud

Our amazing Special Education teacher, Mrs. Deterding, was selected as an Emerson Award recipient! We’re so proud of her leadership and all she brings to SMS. Way to go! 👏🐎
